Oriental Rugs and Pet Accidents in Naples? – We Can Help!
We all love our cats and dogs, and it’s great to know that when accidents happen all is not lost.
Oriental Rug Salon has a thoroughly exhaustive pet response process that is extremely effective at removing pet urine and odor from Oriental rugs as well as feces, vomit and other biological matter.
Upon receipt of your cherished area rug, our rug master will perform a thorough inspection with Xenon lighting to determine the best way to clean and treat it. Usually, this inspection process will require pre-cleaning of the entire rug and then treatment with live enzymes in a submersion pit.
In our full submersion bath, the area rug is soaked with a combination of chemistries designed to dissolve urine salts. At the same time, we release bio-enzymes that digest urine deposits followed with an enzymatic deodorizer. The rug will then sit for a period of 24 hours allowing the enzymes and deodorizers sufficient time to dwell and eliminate the associated urine odors and salt.
After twenty-four hours, we inspect the area rug and if necessary, will repeat the above process until all the urine and associated odor is removed.
Here are the steps involved in our pet urine service.
- Pickup from your home or office
- Pre-inspection to determine existing condition and the best way to clean. This includes testing for colorfastness.
- Dusting the rug from the back on a dusting grid we remove the bulk of non-soluble dirt and sand. We then vacuum the face of the area rug using a HEPA filter beater brush vacuum cleaner to remove as much dirt and animal hair as possible.
- Dye-setting prior to cleaning if required.
- Pre-spotting of all soiled spots including pre-treatment of fringe (if any)
- Area rug is then submerged in a pit by itself where enzymes and deodorizers are released
- The area rug will dwell for a 24-hour period
- After 24 hours, the area rug is thoroughly rinsed and inspected
- Following the inspection, the area rug is transferred to a cleaning pit and washed by hand
- A pH condition rinse is introduced and the area rug is flushed clean
- The fringe, if any, is cleaned a second time
- The entire rug is pH conditioned rinsed a second time
- The extraction process is introduced to remove as much moisture as possible
- The area rug will then dry on an air table
- Once dry, and upon final inspection, the nap of the area rug is set
- A finishing agent and deodorizer is applied
- If approved, a wool guard is applied to protect area rug from spills
