When Is The Last Time Your Area Rug Had A “Spa Treatment?”
When your area rug is woven by hand, beautiful colors and designs helped accentuate the intricate detail look of the design, but over time, the carpet becomes dull and worn by foot traffic, spills and embedded soils. To restore the beauty of your area rugs while extending their life, they need occasional professional cleaning.
At Oriental Rug Salon, each rug is inspected and washed one at a time, by hand, by experienced-certified rug cleaning professionals. Each cleaning begins with a thorough inspection using Xenon lighting to uncover hidden bacteria, pet urine, moth activity and other issues not seen by the naked eye.
Our inspection process also includes a 24-hour dye stability test to ensure the best cleaning method for your rug along with precautions that must be taken in the event dye migration is evident. We examine each rug for snags, pet urine, and staining, rips or tears, damaged fringe and distorted pile issues. We take nothing to chance.
Once the area rug has been thoroughly inspected, it is dusted with 40,000 harmonic impressions per minute to dislodge years of sand, grit and other contaminants that reside deep in the foundation of the rug that is out of reach to even the most powerful vacuum cleaners.
We then prepare a specialty bath, and the area rug is submerged washed by hand, pH conditioned rinsed and then placed on an air table for drying. We do not hang area rugs.
If during testing we determine that a rug cannot be safely submerged washed, we have other techniques such as dry cleaning we can perform. We can clean all textile types.
Final Inspection
Once an area rug has been thoroughly washed and dried, our rug master will then inspect each rug.
Upon final approval, the area rug receives a finishing agent, and the nap is groomed into position, and the rug is wrapped in specialty paper and prepared for delivery or storage.
