Oriental Rug Salon specializes in the hand-washing, restoration, and repair of Oriental, Persian, Turkish, wool and silk area rugs.

We do not clean carpets, or upholstery, or grout and tile – our specialty is rugs.

Our Open Door Policy

We appreciate that you need to feel secure in where and how your rugs are being cleaned and or restored. It is for this reason, unlike many others, we actively promote our open-door policy with no obligation or cost. Our premises are fully equipped and staffed with trained specialists, and we prove it! It is always good to know where your valuables are going, so we invite you to inspect our premises and meet our team at any time before or during your rugs stay.

Finding a company online and knowing if they can be trusted is not an easy task and we sympathize with this. We have heard too many stories of other supposed “specialist cleaners” in SW Florida who simply wash a clients cherished area rug in an automated wash tub or in their company parking lot and call it a day.

Machine batch wash cleaning is best left to car washes, not beautiful hand-knotted rugs.

At Oriental Rug Salon, every single rug goes through the following processes to ensure they are clean and revitalized:

  • Inspected with Xenon lighting to uncover hidden pockets of urine, moths and other contaminants
  • Each rug goes through a 24-hour bleed process so that we can determine the stability of the rug dyes
  • The rug is dusted using the industry-leading Rug Badger where over 40,000 harmonic motions are introduced to the rug designed to dislodge deep-set dirt, sand, dust mites, pollen and other unwanted contaminants
  • Approximately 99% of all area rugs are safely submerged washed using the appropriate cleaning solutions. Both sides of the area rug and fringe are washed by hand
  • Each rug is pH conditioned rinsed using cold-filtered water and a conditioning agent
  • The area rug is then dried on an air table
  • The final inspection takes place, and if the area rug meets the approval of the rug master, the fibers are conditioned, the area rug is rolled in a protective backing paper and prepared for delivery
